Google Sheets version. The Google Sheets copy is the same template without Excel “table” objects, which Google Sheets doesn’t convert cleanly: lists use plain formatting, banded rows and a filter instead. Formulas, drop-downs and colors work the same. Print settings are chosen in File → Print.

Questions

What’s the difference between a quote and an estimate?

The words are often used for the same thing. A quote usually gives a fixed price for a set period; an estimate is an approximate price. This template works for both: just change the title cell.

How do I make a quote in Excel?

Open this template, replace the sample details, list each task or item with a quantity, unit and price, and set your tax rate and deposit. The totals calculate on their own. Save it as PDF and send it.

How long should a quote be valid?

30 days is common; pick 15 to 90 days in the drop-down. The “Valid until” date updates by itself and turns red when the quote has expired.

Can my client sign the quote?

Yes. The acceptance block at the bottom has room for the client’s name, signature and date. Print it, or have it signed on the PDF.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. Download the Google Sheets copy and open it from Google Drive with Google Sheets.
